There are 2 important things to take special note of in this video.
The first is that Dunville residents (and trust me they are not the only ones) are saying loudly they will not allow Native Terrorists to take over their town, and the Second is the clear message that the OPP have already told residents they will NOT act to stop illegal blockades of bridges on June 29th.

Skin colour irrelevant

I was shocked by Chief Terry Nelson’s comments. In response to his remark, “Are you going to listen to another white man making a promise?” I would say yes, you should, if you’re going to be a citizen in a society that looks beyond ethnicity and judges people by the content of their character.
I listen to promises from white men all the time, and for the most part, it hasn’t adversely affected me. It is illogical for Chief Nelson to reject the land-claims proposal simply because of the skin colour of the person who promised it, and it is disingenuous of him to continue rail blockades based on such questionable grounds.

Frustrated in Haldimand County

Well I was all settled in to write an article regarding Dalton McGuinty’s blatant disregard for the residents of Caledonia/Haldimand County, but something else has come to my attention that has just plain peeved me off!
Yesterday there was the “big” announcement regarding speeding up the process of Land Claims in Canada, which I wanted to believe has given “ALL” a glimmer of hope! Then comes an article that was published in The Expositor out of Brantford that took that glimmer of hope and literally flushed it down the toilet! The article is called “It doesn’t give me hope”.
First thing that I would like to state is that I would hope to God as I am writing this article that the OPP have already arrested Janie Jamieson for her admitting that it was them, the protesters that knocked out the Hydro last May!
I am now fearful of what will take place on June 29th, if Janie Jamieson has no fear of admitting to the public that they knocked out the Hydro, how far are they willing to go to prove their point!

Native Firm refuses work

Approximately one year and five months ago (and only one month before DCE), I had the opportunity to contract out some home renovation work to a local Ohsweken firm. To say I was pleased with the results would be a gross understatement. The job was done in a professional and timely manner. I was no impressed that I have (on numerous occasions), passed along the name to many others I know who need similar work done.
Last week I called the same firm to get a quote for work I need done on my new residence. I am deeply saddened to have been told that “they refuse to do work in Caledonia”.

Haldimand: Welcome to the new age

I am a law-abiding citizen and find it absolutely “Criminal” that our Government and the OPP are condoning violence. I am sure that they would boldly disagree with my personal opinion, but their recent actions have proven me correct.
I find today that I feel helpless and dispirited for the road we are going down. When I started my blog in May of this year, it was because I had issues with our local council here in Haldimand County, I now find myself involved in much bigger issues that no level of government can get right. It seemed simple to me at the time when I got involved; all we needed to do was to ensure that there is “One Law for All“.
Well that is easier said then done! Now that the Ipperwash Report is final, all “Hell” seems to be breaking loose, just read the papers! We are “ALL” being Threatened! I am not a person that enjoys being negative, but how can one not help but see that we are in “serious trouble” here!

The Strength of a woman - Mary Lou Lapratte, Ipperwash hero
If there is a hero to be found in the Ipperwash story, it is a remarkable woman by the name of Mary-Lou LaPratte. She lived through it all: crime and intimidation from natives over an invalid land claim against her home and those of her fellow residents; an eventual Supreme Court victory; threats; a home invasion; an assault; ongoing OPP refusal to enforce the law; DND failure to enforce the law; abandonment by the OPP when they fled Ipperwash to save themselves after the death of Dudley George, and psychological trauma so acute during the events of September 1995 that her hair fell out in chunks.
Despite the unbelievable stress and intimidation that caused most Ipperwash residents to suffer unbearable outrages in silence, Mary-Lou refused to be bullied. She spoke out, again and again, on behalf of her fellow citizens who were too afraid to speak for themselves.

Is there any real reason for the Terrorism occuring at DCE? By a Native Resident

In every dispute there are two sides. On each of those two sides it is hoped that one can present a reasonable and justified means for the conflict at hand. In my own personal opinion the Confederacy has been nothing but hypocrites with regards to the fifteen month land claim dispute on the DCE.
I have lived on Six Nations all of my life and the Caledonia protest has ignited feelings of anger and frustration towards those who are representing our community at the negotiations table. Unfortunately the Six Nations Community as a whole is portrayed very negatively thanks to those Native Protesters at DCE who continuously fulfill many of the stereotypes placed upon native people.
The hypocrisy demonstration by these people of the Confederacy is unbelievable.Caledonia was disrespected as a community the day that the occupation began. It is not any one citizen’s fault that the occupation is happening and I am sick of hearing people say that Caledonia citizens need to “calm down”.
It is completely unnecessary to dig up roads, cut off hydro, deface property, and especially hurt or threaten a member of the O.P.P. The Native Protesters on DCE fail to demonstrate any respect for anyone but their own selected few, and because of this do not deserve any respect from anyone else.
In my opinion the most disgraceful insult demonstrated by the DCE protesters was the day that a hole was cut in the middle of the Canadian flag. I don’t care who you are, common sense and respect dictate that if one is residing in Canada then one should respect it. I know that many Six Nations people do not consider themselves a Canadian citizen but I am not one of them. I am proud to be a Canadian.

On a personal note, I would like to thank & applaud this resident of Six Nations for having the courage to come forward and speak his mind. Strong voices like yours need to be heard from all communities in the middle of this horror.
